Mobilizations and Muscle Energy

The body is composed of different types of joints and each joint has specific ranges of motion. It is imperative to the mechanics of the body that we are able to move in those ranges freely. Mobilizations help keep the joints as well as their muscle attachments free of restriction. Muscle energy techniques require activation of a muscle (shortening) paired with stretching the muscle (lengthening). This ensures that muscles can engage properly as well as releasing tension throughout the body.

Visceral Manipulation

A type of therapy that focuses on internal organ fixation, restrictions, dysfunction and fascial release. Techniques are gentle and non-invasive. Visceral manipulation can be used to treat things such as:

  • Irritable bowel syndrome
  • whiplash
  • fertility and infertility
  • menstrual cycle related issues
  • surgical incisions
  • hormone imbalance
  • neck and back pain
  • breathing restrictions
  • chronic fatigue
  • digestive issues
  • lymphatic issues

Cranio-Sacral Therapy

The purpose behind cranial sacral therapy is to balance the flow of  fluids that circulate from the head (cranial) all the way to your bum (sacrum) by means of your dural tube. These techniques are very light touch with developed palpation that is focused on releasing any tensions in the cranial and sacral bones and their reciprocating membranes. This type of therapy is often used in combination with other types of techniques so that your body is balanced throughout all systems.

Cupping

Cupping is a form of alternative therapy that uses vacuum sealed cups to draw blood to the area of suction. This can be beneficial in many ways:

  • reduces pain and inflammation
  • re-circulates old and stagnant blood
  • improve blood flow to the area
  • improves lymphatic flow
